Alright, My Gasser is almost to the point of having something resembling a hull. I have a build thread going, but I thought I'd ask this here for future reference. Main question-----

What size cloth should be used with what size boat and how many layers?

In my case, What/how much should I use to cover a 45in wood boat?

Thanks!

Honestly, I wouldn't cover a wood boat with glass, just resin or epoxy unless you feel the hull sheeting is too thin.

But I would reinforce some seams with glass on the inside of the hull, such as the bottom and side seams.

And if you spring a leak at a seam after the boat is complete, you can use glass to reinforce or repair on the outside.

What he said.

If you really want to, and you feel that you might inadvertently puncture a hole in the hull by way of a submerged rock or you plan to do some ground running...you could use 2oz cloth just to give a little extra protection, but I don't think it would be needed.

Reviving an old thread......What weight fibercloth would be best to put on an outer hull seam? Such as the outer edge going around the boat? Would 3/4 oz be small enough to not be noticeable?
